40 Days of Prayer

Why 40 Days of Prayer?

In the parable of the persistent widow, Jesus taught us, "keep praying, don't stop!” In Matthew 9:37-38, Jesus taught us to "ask for laborers for the harvest", and in Matthew 7:7-11 Jesus taught us to "ask, seek and knock"! Before Jesus began His public ministry, He retreated for 40 days to the wilderness where He prayed and fasted. This time of prayer prepared Him for the intense work that would shape the next three years of His life and ultimately the greatest sacrifice He would ever make.

These days will take us from the final days of preparation for the semester through the first week of classes on most campuses.  Just as Joshua and Aaron held up the arms of Moses while the Children of Israel were in battle, will you hold up these Texas BSM missionaries and their work during this key time of the semester?

{Prayer is foundational for the ministry of Texas BSM and our churches as 1.5 million college students return in mid to late August!  Our vision for Texas BSM is to "engage the 1.5 million college students in Texas to follow Christ and transform the world."  We partner with churches to reach the vast "harvest field" on Texas universities and colleges.}
